Happy 11 Months!

On October 23rd, Bryleigh turned 11 Months Old!  Thankfully the last month has been relatively calm at the Hamby House.  Bryleigh had to go back to Cook Children's Hospital on October 19th to have her kidney ultrasound and bladder tests (VCUG) done and thankfully the results came back great, she does have both kidneys, both are relatively the same size and she does not have bladder reflux!  So now we just will go back to the doctor for her 1 Year Check-Up.  Unfortunately, mom, Brynlee, Bryleigh and I almost had the place memorized.  We even had trouble getting Brynlee to leave the playground since the place is so kid-friendly.

At 11 Months, she weighs approximately 24 pounds and 3 ounces and is about 30 inches tall.  She wears 12 months clothing and a few leftover 18 month outfits from sister.  She wears anywhere from a size 4-5 shoe depending on brand.  We recently took her off of her Nexium reflux medicine to begin trying out real milk and so far she has done great with a couple of milk bottle subsitutes a day with not much spit-up.  We are hoping she will not have to be on lactose-free like Brynlee.  She is just now starting to like finger foods and can now eat cheerios, crackers, bread, small chunks of fruit, she loved bananas, and of course 3rd food baby food mixtures.  If you ever mention food, milk, or snack, so goes directly to the kitchen and waits!  She has her front four top teeth and two center bottom teeth in now.  I guess it just finally took having teeth to chew!

She is still quite the early riser.  She typically goes to bed around 8:15 p.m. and awakes anywhere from 5:45-6:15 a.m.  However on daylight savings Sunday, her wake-up call was at 4:30!  She is so happy when she wakes up, she can't wait to watch her favorite TV show "3rd & Bird" on Disney Junior.

Bryleigh is also our little talker.  She is beginning to get more vocal and be able to make more sounds and say words or point at what she wants.  She can say things like hi, bye-bye, momma, dadda, yes, bus, snack, ball, bath ,will shake her head no, will sign for more when we eat and will go get a diaper when asked and often heads straight to her room to wait.  She is beginning to learn her body parts and will point to her hair and nose when asked.  She is also starting to mimic our behavior more and more and will make the funniest faces at Brynlee. 


Only two more weeks until our baby girl turns one!
