In the meantime, we have still managed to have lots of fun. In January, the girls were able to celebrate Cowboy/Cowgirl Day at school. Unfortunately, the petting zoo and pony rides had to be rescheduled for the Spring because of the super cold weather. Right now the girls are really into the Disney Junior show, Sheriff Callie and it is all about being in the wild west! Bryleigh is also a big fan of horses and cows, so she was pretty pumped up about this day. She rides her horse, Sparky, and has a blast!!!
Bryleigh also had her 1 year check up for her ear tubes. So far the tubes are still in, look great and seem to be working properly. We go back in April to have her next checkup and a hearing test done to make sure she is still hearing properly.
In February, we were able to make the girl's 1st visit to the Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo along with Gramma and Grampa. The girls had a blast, loved the rodeo and looking at everything in the exhibits (picking up the free goodies along the way). But by far the most exciting and memorable time for the girls was riding the ponies. Brynlee was so excited she came home and drew her first picture of her horse, Zeus, with her riding it and took it to school to tell her teachers and friends! With the stock show tickets, we were also able to visit the Cowgirl's Museum and Ft. Worth Museum of Science and History. Fun times were had by all!
February also brought along Valentine's Day. The girls and I were sick this week, so it was pretty low key. Brynlee even had to miss her Valentine's Party at school and I forgot to even take a picture of Bryleigh before she headed to hers.
On Valentine's Day, Gramma gave Bryleigh her first hair trim at almost 27 months old, her hair was finally ready to get a trim. We didn't take off very much, well because really she still doesn't have much! Brynlee at this age had hair almost half way down her back! Here are the before pictures. Sorry, didn't get an after picture!
The day after Valentine's Day was the Sugar and Spice Daddy/Daughter Banquet at our church. This was the first time for Brynlee to attend with Travis. She was so excited to get dressed up and even wanted to me to curl her hair! They had a fun time, maybe next year she will feel better. Bryleigh was so sad she didn't go, she kept hanging on to Travis's leg. Next year she will get her turn.
These last pictures are from this past Sunday morning. Saturday night we went to the Wise County Youth Fair Queen's Contest to watch Danae. Danae looked beautiful and did an awesome job. The girls were very excited and have talked about it ever since. Brynlee even said next year she wanted to be the County Queen! I told her she had to be at least 9! Anyways, when they went to pose for their pictures their hands automatically went on their hips. Something they said the princesses did the night before!
