It's a GIRL!!!

For those of you who may not have heard our exciting news yet....Travis and I are expecting another baby girl around December 3rd.  I am about 21 1/2 weeks along and baby and I are both doing well.  The morning sickness is subsiding some, well lets just put it this way...I am having to make less trips to the pharmacy to get my nausea prescription.  I have been lucky in that I have been able to wear my same clothes all this time, however around 20 weeks the baby bump finally started to emerge and I have had to bust out the belly band a couple of times!  We had our big sonogram at the end of June for the fetal and gender assessment, here is your first glimpse of our baby girl.

Brynlee isn't quite sure what to think about all of this yet.  Since we don't have any names picked out for her yet, we have been referring to the baby as "sissy".  Occasionally, Brynlee will say things like "sissy's clothes", "sissy's nap" (for the other pacifier), etc and knows which room will be her little sisters.  I have already had so much fun buying matching outfits for them!  Brynlee is very interested at looking at other people's babies, but when we get close, she shys away.  So this will probably be very interesting!

In preparation for our little girl's arrival, we are in the process of turning Brynlee's room into her "big girl" room.  We have moved the room around quite a bit with the arrival of her new full-size bed.  Yes, the bed is a little big for her now...but she will just have to grow into it.  It's kind of funny, I didn't sleep on a full-size bed until I was a sophomore in college.  She takes her naps in the bed and loves it, but we haven't started sleeping in it at night yet so the crib is still in there.  When we finally take it out, she will have quite a bit of room for her kitchen and other toys.  Here are some pictures of the before and after of her room.

As you can see, Brynlee is quite adventuresome.  The bed rails should be used to help her stay in the bed, however she uses them to scale the wood frame, or better yet climb over the bed rails.  If you notice, we made wooden letters and put them over the bed.  I thought we had them placed high enough, but she will climb on the pillows and try to take them off.  I am just waiting for an accident to happen!

Even as wild as she is, she can be very sweet and loving!  I am sure she will make a great big sister!

On a different note, Travis and I celebrated our 5th Wedding Anniversary on July 22nd. It is hard to imagine it has already been 5 years.

Our anniversary present this year, was a new car.  At the end of June, we traded in my car for a new Acadia.  We absolutely love it!  Travis is so excited that he doesn't have to hit his head when he is putting Brynlee in her car seat.  The space is great and will be much better with two little ones.

However, Travis was still very sweet and sent me roses.  They were absolutely beautiful and there were so many of them and so tall!

We went out for our first "date night" in over a year last Saturday to celebrate (and it was practically free).  At the end of the school year, a student gave me a gift certificate to the movies, so we went and watched Friends with Benefits.  Also, Travis was given a very nice gift certificate to the Reata Restaurant at Sundance Square so we had a great dinner there.  To top the evening off we went to Cold Stone for ice-cream.  All in all we had a great time!
