Bryleigh & Brynlee Update

Bryleigh turned 1 Years Old on November 23rd.  At her 12 Month check up she weighed 26 pounds and 2.5 ounces (95%) and was 31 inches tall (85%).  At this same age, Brynlee weighed 23 pounds, 6 ounces and was also 31 inches tall.  She wears 12-18 months clothing and wears about a 5-5.5 shoe depending on brand.  Bryleigh has made the transition to whole milk and so far has done okay with it.  She likes drinking out of her sippy cup, so luckily it wasn't too hard to take the bottle away.  She is doing better at eating table food, however she is still getting 3rd food baby food.  She likes bread, peaches, bananas, hamburger meat, waffles, peas, Spanish rice, and likes to try whatever else is on our plate, even if it is just a little bite.  She has her front four teeth, bottom two teeth and two of her molars in.  Since her molars came in she is doing better with chewing and trying more foods!

On December 20th, Bryleigh had tubes put in both of her ears.  She has struggled with ear infections and has had 6 since March.  It was quite the wake-up call when she went for her hearing test and didn't respond to any sounds or noises on her right side.  I have always assumed she could hear and understand, since she typically responded to us.  Hopefully with the tubes in now, she will be able to hear clearly out of both ears.

Bryleigh is still our early riser and wakes up so happy.  She goes to bed around 8 p.m. and wakes up anywhere from 5:45-6:15 a.m.  Bryleigh is still our little talker.  If she can't say what she wants, she will just keep pointing at it and babble at it.  She is always telling people hi and bye and waving.  Momma and dadda are a staple as well as snack, bath, yes and now uh-oh for anytime she drops something.  She likes to shake her head no, loves to give kisses and hugs.  She can point to her hair, nose and tummy when asked and also likes to point at ours.  She has such a fun personality and really likes people to talk to her and respond back to her.  It is so funny, because this personality is really quite the opposite of Brynlee at this age. 

Bryleigh has loved playing with Brynlee around this house.  As she is getting better, she is doing a better job of keeping up with her.  She will run after Brynlee and loves to play shadow puppets and hide and seek in the dark with her.  When not playing with Brynlee, she loves her baby dolls and playing with the kitchen. 

Brynlee is now a few months passed three years old and is quite the diva.  She weighs approximately 34 pounds and is about 41 inches tall.  She wears size 3T-4T clothing and a size 9 shoe.  She is still our lactose-free child, but loves cheese, pudding and yogurt! 
Brynlee is also an early riser.  She goes to bed around 8:30-8:45 p.m. and typically wakes up around 6:15 a.m.  Now, she on the other hand is not our happy riser, she is typically a little grumpy and isn't a fan of having to eat breakfast.  Brynlee has gained quite the vocabulary and is great at memorizing or repeating things she has heard.  It is hilarious but she will repeat and tell us stories of things that have happened over a year ago, and she is always spot on,  For instance, we watched Sophia the First.  Within in about 2 times of watching it, she had the whole movie almost memorized.  Brynlee is really into pretend play and dress up and loves acting out Cinderella and all of the other princesses.  She is always wanting to take my phone so she can watch Cinderella on YouTube. 

Brynlee loves being a big sister, well on most days at least.  She can be very loving and kind and then at times wants her her independence and just wants to play by herself.  Brynlee likes having books read to her and loves Taylor Swift!  She also loves coloring, drawing and using stickers on her masterpieces and never wants to leave her room without her "royal" accessories consisting of tons of necklaces, bracelets, her crown, princess dress and shiny shoes!
